# Read Before You Use

Using the “URL Shortener for Zoho CRM” extension is simple. The plugin works with 5 modules. You will see them after the installation -

1. Leads
2. Deals
3. Accounts
4. Products
5. Vendors 
   

Also, the plugin uses 3 platforms to shorten any valid URL -

1. Bitly
2. Cuttly
3. Tiny
   

Note - The URL that you want to shorten, should be valid with HTTP/HTTPS protocol.

To use the extension, we need to provide the Access token for the vendor that we want to use. 

# How to Shorten URLs

Suppose, we want to short URLs with Tiny, then we need to go to (https://tinyurl.com/) and log in with authorized credentials.

Then, go to Account >> API and create a token.

Give a suitable name for the token and click on the Create button. 

Once the token is created, click the “Copy To Clipboard” button to copy it. 

Inside the CRM, go to “URL Shortener Settings” and paste the token in the Access token field. Remember, the vendor should be selected first. In this case, we will select Tiny. 

After that, check the website or URL boxes for individual modules, under the “Map the following module” section. Then, click the “Save Settings” button.

You will get a successful message like this -

Now, open a Lead, Deal, Account, Product, or Vendor (The module for which you want to shorten the URL)

For instance, we want to shorten a website URL for a Lead. Therefore -

1. We will open that lead and click the Edit button at the top right corner. 
2. Then, we will paste the designated URL into the website field. 
3. Once everything is done, we will click the Save button.
4. After a few moments, we will notice the URL will be shortened with the help of Tiny.
