Go to the Clickatell website and log in (or create an account if you don’t have any). Here, we need to create an integration. Go to -
SMS >> Configure SMS
Click on “Create new integration” to create a new integration.
To create an integration, you have to go through 6 steps.
Step 1:
Enter your integration name and provide a description (if necessary).
Select Environment = Sandbox environment (Recommended)
Select API Type = REST
Once everything is done, hit the ‘Next’ button.
Step 2:
In this step,
Select Messaging type = Two-way messaging
Select Delivery type = Time Critical
Then, hit the ‘Next’ button.
Step 3:
Here, you need to enable 2 options.
First, turn on the “Enable message parts” option. Once you turn it on, you will get the option to select message parts. This option will allow you to split messages into smaller parts.
Note: Clickatell may charge you for each part.
Second, turn on the “Enable delivery notifications” option. You have to paste the Clickatell Delivery Report URL from 2.5. Select ‘POST’ for the method type.
In the “Credentials for basic http authentication (optional)” field, enter your Clickatell username and password.
Once everything is done, click the ‘Next’ button to go to the next step.
Step 4:
Turn on the “Reply Callbacks” option. Select ‘POST’ for the method type. In the Target Address field, paste the Clickatell Reply Callback URL from 2.5.
Give the target user a name. After that, create a target password and confirm it. Click the ‘Next’ button to proceed to the next step.
Step 5:
Check the “Two-way numbers” and hit the ‘Next’ button to proceed further.
Note: You need to copy this Two-way number and paste it into the “From Number” field at 2.5.
Step 6:
This will give an overview of the integration. Check if everything is okay or not. If everything seems fine, click the ‘Finish’ button to create the integration.
The newly created integration will be at the bottom of the list. Click on the integration name to open it.
After creating the integration, you will find an API Key. Copy it and paste it into the “Authorization Token” field at 2.5.
Awesome! You have done the setup. Now you are ready to send SMS.
